- teisminė priežiūra statusas T sritis Politika apibrėžtis Teisminės arba kvaziteisminės institucijos vykdoma kontrolė, ar įstatymų leidžiamosios ir vykdomosios valdžios institucijų priimti norminiai teisės aktai atitinka aukštesnės galios teisės aktus. Jos dalis yra konstitucinė kontrolė, t. y. vertinimas, ar įstatymai ir kiti aukščiausių valstybės valdžios institucijų priimami teisės aktai atitinka konstituciją. Konstitucinės kontrolės pradžia laikomas 1903 JAV Aukščiausiojo Teismo sprendimas byloje Marbury v. Madison, kuriame Teismų įstatymas (angl. Judiciary Act) buvo pripažintas prieštaraujančiu JAV Konstitucijai. Įvairiose valstybėse veikia skirtingi konstitucinės kontrolės įgyvendinimo mechanizmai. JAV ją įgyvendina bendrieji teismai, galutinį sprendimą priima Aukščiausiasis Teismas. Europoje ši funkcija paprastai patikima specialiai institucijai – Konstituciniam Teismui (Lietuva, Vokietija, Austrija), Konstitucinei tarybai (Prancūzija). Be konstitucinės kontrolės, teisminės priežiūros atveju laikomas ir tikrinimas, ar žemesnės galios norminiai teisės aktai atitinka įstatymus arba vyriausybės priimtus norminius aktus.
